Job Title: Financial Accounting and Advisory Specialist Lead

This role is part of our growing financial accounting advisory specialists national team. You will work on technical accounting, financial reporting, and business advisory assignments, applying your expertise in UK GAAP and IFRS principles. As a manager, you will be expected to complete complex projects, including group reconstructions and conversions to different GAAPs.

You will manage the preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS and FRS 101, leveraging your strong understanding of accounting standards. The fast growth of the department presents opportunities to develop further skill sets, including business development and coaching junior staff. You will work with various colleagues and businesses across the UK, supporting your local office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coach junior team members in preparing financial statements compliant with FRS 102, FRS 101, IFRS, and other relevant standards.
  • Lead complex accountancy-related projects for clients, such as IFRS transition consultancy work or support on acquisition accounting and consolidations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with clients, communicating issues and suggested solutions promptly.
  • Manage client portfolios, projects, and WIP/billing responsibilities.
  • Practise excellent client service principles and liaise with other departments within the office.
  • Coach junior team members and participate in staff training and supervision.

Requirements:

  • ACA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a professional practice, preferably in an accounting advisory team or providing written accounting advice to clients.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience working with clients and supervising junior staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
