Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Chief Data Architect to join our team in Leeds. As a key member of our Technology Operations function, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing data solutions that meet the needs of our business.

About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will take responsibility for integrating new and existing systems, ensuring they adhere to development standards and meet requirements. You will also learn about YBS data and how it is used to service our customers and run our business. Additionally, you will collaborate with Architects, Analysts, and Product Owners to perform impact analysis on requirements and designs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and implement solutions to integrate new and existing systems, ensuring adherence to development standards and meeting requirements.
  • Learns all about YBS data and how it is used to service our customers and run our business.
  • Supports those services in live.
  • Collaborates with Architects, Analysts, and Product Owners to perform impact analysis on requirements and designs.
  • Works closely with the business and Project Manager/Owners to define scope, timescales, and quality metrics to deliver data products across YBS.
  • Suggests where products can be reused to speed up delivery of data-driven decisions.
  • Supports development of the capability and capacity of team and/or service resources to drive sustained commercial success.
  • Contributes to good housekeeping practices for the maintenance of data, including de-commissioning unused data products.
  • Participates in and leads peer reviews of documentation, code, unit, and integration testing.
  • Reports on the progress of work allocated, in the manner required for that delivery, which can be waterfall or agile.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need hands-on technical experience of an enterprise ETL tool such as SAP BODS, ODI, or SSIS. You will also require understanding and proven experience in principles of Infrastructure and data warehouse design, dimensional, relational modeling, and BI delivery using Enterprise ETL and BI software. Furthermore, you should have understanding of physical database implementation technologies such as Oracle or SQL Server, as well as complete administration duties with regards to our technologies.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including 25 days annual leave, Bank Holidays, and the option to buy up to 5 additional days. You will also receive private medical insurance, dental, and healthcare plans, as well as access to our self-service benefits portal.
