Main Areas of Responsibility

As a Lead Practitioner, you will play a key role in driving the improvement of teaching and learning in the Mathematics Faculty. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and achievement, and leading the monitoring, evaluation, and review of standards and provision in the subject area.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Lead Practitioner Team to build and realize a shared vision of excellence and high standards for all students.
  • Accounting for students' performance in line with Academy procedures.
  • Providing the Governing Body with relevant and accurate information relating to the Faculty's performance and development.
  • Supporting and participating in the work of the Harris Federation, including strand or subject groups as appropriate.
  • Contributing actively towards the formulation of all Academy policies and procedures, ensuring their consistent implementation.
  • Ensuring high-quality teaching and learning in the Faculty or across the Academy.
  • Participating in duties at lunch, break, before, during, and after school during the Academy day.
  • Ensuring that the subject knowledge of staff in the Faculty is exemplary.
  • Ensuring that behavior in the Faculty is exemplary.
  • Ensuring that Schemes of Learning and Independent Work books are of a high quality.
