About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Resource Management Solutions. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our rolling mill and associated plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute routine planned maintenance schedules to ensure departmental objectives and targets are achieved.
  • Ensure high standards of health & safety, identify and develop safety initiatives within the team.
  • Undertake designated responsibilities under statutory regulations.
  • Develop and initiate process improvements within the team.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and deployment of resources.
  • Assess self-performance and develop, implement and review appropriate training plans to ensure individual optimum performance.

Requirements:

  • Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship (HNC/ONC level or equivalent)
  • Mechanical experience of heavy manufacturing industry and use of mechanical equipment, specialist tools, lifting equipment for example.
  • Basic hydraulic, welding and pipefitting.
  • Previous experience Mechanical maintenance of handling equipment, pumps and pipework systems.
  • Previous experience of PPM and reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns.
  • Previous experience of maintenance of Gearbox's and coupling systems.
  • Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to SWP's, risk assessments, procedures and permit systems.
  • Good level of problem-solving awareness with an ability to fault find of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience of crane maintenance.
