Residential Care Professional

Role Description:
At DMD Partners Limited, we are seeking a compassionate Residential Care Professional to join our team in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people in care. As a key member of our 5-bed LD team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents, promoting positive outcomes, and ensuring the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide safe and supportive care, ensuring the physical, health, and social needs of young people are met in a secure and welcoming environment.
• Support less experienced staff and foster effective teamwork to ensure the well-being of our residents.
• Contribute to an enabling culture that helps young people reach their full potential, supporting their educational and social development.
• Safeguard and manage safeguarding concerns, ensuring effective risk management and appropriate action is taken.
• Develop and review individual care plans that meet each young person's needs, working with young people, families, and professionals.
• Maximise educational opportunities for young people, liaising with schools and supporting their academic progress.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with young people, families, and external agencies, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
• Mentor less experienced staff and contribute to team assessments, participating in ongoing training to enhance professional skills.
• Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, respecting the unique cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds of each young person.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience in residential care, social care, or working with children/young people is preferred.
• A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is required.
• Excellent communication, safeguarding awareness, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour are essential.
• Strong organisational skills and a passion for supporting young people and promoting their well-being are also required.
Working Arrangements:
This role will require an enhanced DBS check and working on a rota system, including evenings, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts. Sleep-in payment of £96.00 per sleep and enhanced pay for weekend shifts are also available.
