About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Estates Design Officer to join our team at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. As a key member of our Estates and Facilities Division, you will play a crucial role in developing, designing, and managing capital schemes from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage capital schemes, including design, planning, and project management.
  • Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met within budget and time constraints.
  • Manage and coordinate the procurement and construction of delegated capital schemes, including preparation of final accounts and post-project evaluation.
  • Work closely with department managers and user groups to ensure clear communication and effective project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with current Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM), building and planning regulations, and other statutory framework regulations.
Requirements
  • Degree in a Building discipline with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Professional knowledge equivalent to degree level gained in a Building discipline or a demonstrable record of work experience and achievement gained within the Construction Industry.
  • Recognised management/supervisory qualification or a proven record of equivalent experience and knowledge.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Specialist knowledge acquired through courses and/or experience.
  • Working towards Chartered status.
  • Proficient in the use of Auto Cad and BIM.
  • Experience in Building Professions.
  • Appropriate work experience within the industry.
  • Freedom to act to their own ability and on behalf of the Health Board.
