Building Surveyor

Altum HR is seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our team and contribute to the successful oversight and reporting of our client's development projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed reports on the viability of development projects, covering budgetary control, quality, progress, insurance, contracts, and adherence to statutory procedures.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Reporting: Prepare detailed initial and interim reports on the viability of development projects, ensuring all necessary information is available for project completion.
- Diligent Monitoring: Oversee construction activities with meticulous attention, ensuring all drawdowns from the agreed fund are approved accurately.
- Documentation Management: Maintain up-to-date, compliant, and accurate financial and project-related documentation.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Project Completion Support: Ensure all necessary information is available for the successful completion of projects.
- Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with borrowers through regular, client-facing interactions, contributing to business development strategies.
- Professional Representation: Represent our company with professionalism and diligence at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Building Surveying (preferred) or Quantity Surveying.
- Professional Certification: MRICS or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in project or fund monitoring or Building Surveying, with proven experience in managing residential developments, including refurbishments and new builds, valued between £250,000 and £1,500,000.
- Loan Documentation Expertise: Understanding of loan documentation to identify and monitor clauses for compliance and risk identification.
- Construction Knowledge: Practical knowledge of construction processes and building contracts.
- Regulatory Familiarity: Working knowledge of Planning, Building Control, and House in Multiple Occupation regulations.

- Writing Proficiency: Excellent report writing skills.
