About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a key member of our Marine Systems team, you will be responsible for managing engineering aspects of the support solution for equipment's and systems contracted to Marine systems in the Support Value Stream.

  • You will investigate and resolve technical queries from a variety of sources, and raise and answer S forms through the Maritime Collaborative Working Environment via the Surface Ship Definition Database (SSDD) and Submarine definition Database (SDD).
  • You will develop and implement design and supporting improvements, such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) actions, to identify cost/lead-time/availability improvements for the Marine Systems contracts.
  • You will resolve obsolescence issues identified by the Obsolescence Manager, applying the most appropriate resolution to gain the maximum benefit to the project.

This is a full-time role based in either Bristol, Rosyth, Portsmouth or Plymouth, with hybrid working arrangements available. You will work closely with our national team of engineers and designers to deliver improvements to the services offered to the Royal Navy to the benefit of Babcock and the MoD customer.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of contract delivery and procurement processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to produce concise reports and business cases.
