Job Title: Apprentice - Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a leading manufacturer in the Birmingham region. As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment and building equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting directly to the Engineering manager on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring all work practices adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for Electrical / Mechanical maintenance on a day to day basis on plant equipment and building equipment.
  • To be able to complete electrical installations to the latest regulations within a fast moving factory environment.
  • Perform electrical maintenance.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of key automated manufacturing plant equipment.
  • Implement, document and report routine maintenance schedules for both plant and machinery using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • To assist all trades within the facility and complete mechanical repairs when required.
Working Hours:

Monday - Friday 07:00 - 16:00 Week 1

Monday - Friday 16:00 - 22:00 / Saturday 08:00 - 13:00 Week 2

Requirements:
  • A recognised Engineering qualification (Level 3 - Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Understanding of Drives & Motors or Pumps
  • Hydraulic & Pneumatics experience is a must
  • Good understanding of electrical controls would be advantageous (PLC systems)
  • Strong understanding of health & safety in a manufacturing environment
