Job Summary

Care UK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Chef to join our team. As a Second Chef, you will play a key role in leading the kitchen operation and ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring that all dishes are of the highest standard.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas, taking into account the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies, ensuring that all equipment and ingredients are in good working order.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and implement kitchen operations, ensuring that all health and safety standards are met.
  • Provide training and support to junior chefs, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Second Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with the ability to maintain high standards in the kitchen.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
