Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician - Equipment Specialist to join our team at the Schindler Group. This is a full-time, permanent role that requires working on a day shift pattern of 8:30-17:00 (Monday to Thursday) and 8:30-16:30 (Friday).
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by contract terms on lift/escalator equipment, including completion of Schindler safety inspections and closure of any open non-conformity to current legislation or standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components, in accordance with approved company procedures.
- Rectify and reduce faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
- Check the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature, and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
- Carry out the routine inspection and adjustment of lift/escalator in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift/escalator and complete service documentation.
- Carrying out more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals, and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
- Contribute to the Company's safety objectives by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safety management system.
Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Requirements:
- Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/Maintenance/Repairs preferred.
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent.
- Willingness to Work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
- Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines, and within efficiencies.
- The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
- Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors).
- Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good administration skills and punctuality.
- Full UK driving License.
