HV Fitter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HV Fitter to join our team in the North West. As a HV Fitter, you will play a pivotal role within the site services team, responsible for a wide range of duties on substation plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, refurbish, maintain, fault-find, and condition monitor substation plant and equipment, including:
  • Installation of Control and protection equipment
  • Installation of Earthing Systems
  • Installation of outdoor equipment such as Bus Bar, Disconnectors, and Switchgear
  • Maintenance of High Voltage equipment
  • Transformer oil sample, analysis, and changes
  • Carry out basic testing such as Ducter Resistance tests - IR test
Your Background:
  • A minimum of 4 years in a similar position within the industry or qualified at NVQ Level 3 as a minimum
  • A strong background in Electrical Engineering with a thorough knowledge of switchgear maintenance and installation
  • Experience of working on transmission equipment
  • Competency with Microsoft suites including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Knowledge and experience with retrofitting of LV and HV switchgear is advantageous
  • Strong people skills and experience in managing internal & external relationships
  • Ability to read and interpret technical CAD drawings is required
  • Management capabilities and ability to help develop junior project engineers within the team

A full UK Driving License is required.
