Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Compliance Practice as a Senior Operational Risk Project Manager. This role will involve driving projects involving first, second, and third-line risk functions, providing oversight and challenge to key strategic change programs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Head of Operational Risk in embedding the risk management framework, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of change initiatives that impact operational resilience while maintaining compliance with regulatory and legal bodies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of Operational Risk in embedding the risk management framework, providing assurance to senior leadership on the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management practices.
  • Represent risk on business projects, ensuring delivery risks have been considered and managed appropriately.
  • Manage relationships at all levels, ensuring key risks are visible and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assess business area compliance against the Enterprise Risk Management Framework requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with partners across the 3 Lines of Defense to simplify and strengthen project risk management practices.
  • Provide effective insight and present at program steering, working groups, and risk governance forums.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • In-depth knowledge of different types of operational risks, systems, and processes.
  • A proven track record in leading and delivering complex projects, particularly within the retail banking sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience engaging regularly with senior stakeholders and building high-value relationships.
  • Familiarity with assessing and managing risks in line with an Enterprise Risk Management Framework and knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services.
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate complex technical information, assess risks, and provide clear insights.
