Statutory Accountant Job Description

The Accountancy & Finance Division at The ONE Group is seeking an experienced Statutory Accountant to join their team. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the Finance Manager in the preparation of statutory accounts and reporting for the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Statutory Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP, IFRS, and regulations.
  • Annual Audit Coordination: Coordinate with auditors for annual audits and ensure timely completion.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with UK statutory requirements, including Companies House and HMRC filings.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Analyse financial data to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Tax and VAT Filings: Assist in preparing corporation tax returns, VAT, and other filings.
  • Legislative Compliance: Monitor UK financial legislation to ensure compliance.
  • Month-End and Year-End Closings: Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance on accounting and reporting issues.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Assist with forecast, budget, and tax reporting.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified Accountant or equivalent.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and UK Tax requirements.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience: Proven experience of statutory accounting experience.
  • Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
