Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Engineer to join our team at GFG. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our equipment maintenance and inspection processes are carried out in compliance with relevant statutory laws, regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain compliance with relevant legislation, British and European Standards, and the Business Code of Practice.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in maintenance and inspection processes using best practice and cost-effective solutions.
  • Communicate with site engineers to ensure maintenance plans are in place to cover all aspects of compliance.
  • Manage the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure department engineers understand best practice.
  • Manage the business statutory reporting system (Prime) to ensure all assets are registered and have the correct reports and inspection regimes in place.
  • Produce regular reports to show the level of compliance across specified areas.
  • Investigate reasons around overdue or outstanding inspections or remedial work.
  • Keep up to date with changes to current legislation and communicate these to other engineers.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors to service and maintain equipment and systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience as an engineer, ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent, with a detailed knowledge of their appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Working knowledge of other disciplines.
  • Man-management experience and the safe execution of work.
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated and a good communicator at all levels.
  • Effective leadership skills to motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Strong drive, motivation, and commitment.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to assimilate, organise, and analyse pertinent information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Computer literate with practical experience of maintenance management systems.
  • Project management skills.
  • A team worker with a flexible approach to work.
