About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Basingstoke. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and practical support to individuals facing mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with students to develop tailored support plans that meet their unique mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide immediate support during challenging situations, helping students navigate difficult emotions.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, providing updates on students' progress and collaborating on strategies for continued support at home.
  • Support teachers and fellow teaching assistants in classrooms.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children in a mental health or educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassion and empathy for the well-being of children.
  • Experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
