Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic Department Manager - Construction Education to join our team at South Hampshire College Group. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to lead our Construction department, driving innovation and excellence in education.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing college policies related to learning, teaching, and quality management. You will ensure rigorous tracking and monitoring of learner progression, attendance, retention, and destinations, with a focus on 'at risk' students and early intervention.

You will work closely with the Curriculum Director to contribute to the development of the team's yearly curriculum plan and each member of staff's yearly plan of action. Providing data relating to examinations, statistics, assessments, entry, and exit according to college practices will also be a key responsibility.

In addition, you will work with the Curriculum Director on the evaluation and review of the curriculum and its activities. Ensuring high-quality student progress reviews is also an essential aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing all college policies relating to the management of learning, teaching, and quality
  • To ensure that rigorous tracking and monitoring of learner progression, attendance, retention, and destinations is in place and KPIs are met with a focus on 'at risk' students and early intervention
  • Working in conjunction with the Curriculum Director to contribute to the development of the team's yearly curriculum plan and each member of staff's yearly plan of action
  • Providing all data relating to examinations, statistics, assessments, entry, and exit in accordance with College practices to the Curriculum Director
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 2 qualifications in Literacy & Numeracy
  • A Level 3 qualification in the relevant area of expertise (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)
  • A Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)
  • Relevant degree and/or appropriate level professional qualifications
