Graduate Learning Support Assistant Opportunity

A reputable secondary school in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their team of caring and committed staff. The successful candidate will provide support to a year 7 student with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have access to a full range of learning experiences both in and out of the classroom.

The Role:
  • Support a student with SEN in a mainstream school
  • Promote the student's educational, emotional, and social development
  • Employ and adapt various teaching strategies to suit the needs of the child
  • Liaise with the SENCo and teachers to facilitate access to learning experiences
  • Assist with personal care
The Benefits:
  • Paid £425 - £500 per week, term time only
  • Long-term role, no day-to-day supply
  • Placed in one school for the academic year
  • Gaining rewarding SEN teaching experience
  • Ideal experience for aspiring teachers or educational psychologists
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2:1 degree in any subject
  • Previous experience supporting people with SEN
  • Previous experience working/volunteering with children and young people
  • Passionate about supporting people with SEN
  • Understanding, patient, and empathetic towards young people's needs
