At Laing O'Rourke, we are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to work on a bridge construction project in Birmingham. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in pre-construction and develop your skills in a multifaceted business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise digital engineering models to provide information for visual method statements and task sheets, showcasing confidence in sharing knowledge with team members
  • Implement and ensure compliance with the Laing O'Rourke management of temporary works procedure, explaining procedures to others
  • Determine the most appropriate methods of dimensional control, taking advice from specialists where necessary, to ensure setting out data is controlled
  • Interrogate and transfer setting out data from 3D CAD data
  • Determine the requirements for and format of as-built surveys and reports, defining the scope of the survey to demonstrate compliance
  • Produce and/or ensure that inspection test plans are produced, available, and implemented, ensuring they fully address specification and contractual obligations
  • Ensure adherence to project and company quality procedures
  • Utilise and recommend best engineering methods
  • Design process knowledge
  • Produce and approve method statements and risk assessments
  • Procurement
  • Management of a team of 2-4 Senior Engineers (project dependent)

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or an industry-recognised technical or engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) plus demonstrable experience in a construction delivery environment
  • Circa 8 years' experience in a Civil Engineering capacity
  • Structures experience
