About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior European Gas Analyst to join our industry-leading gas and power research team at Energy Aspects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on the European gas market, analyzing price and supply-demand relationships, and building sophisticated models to provide valuable insights to our clients.

As a Senior European Gas Analyst, you will be expected to communicate our views to clients through written reports, visuals, and published data sets. You will also present your insights to clients, prospects, and the media, both in person and online. Your ability to work independently, plan, and prioritize to achieve success will be essential in this role.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of the European gas market, excellent technical competence, and the ability to build and maintain complex supply-demand models. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research on the European gas market to maintain and improve our in-house supply-demand and pricing models.
  • Build relationships with the market to gain insights and stay up-to-date with the latest developments.
  • Write reports and create presentation materials to convey our views to clients.
  • Present our views to clients and the media, both in person and online.
  • Work closely with other members of the team to align our forecasts and sense-check work.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a gas analyst with a strong understanding of the European gas market.
  • Strong technical competence, including Excel, statistical analysis, and the ability to build and maintain complex supply-demand models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build industry relationships and work effectively in a team.
  • Good track record of working to tight deadlines and collaborating effectively in teams.
Desirable Skills
  • Coding skills using systems like Python, C++, SQL, MATLAB, R, etc.
  • Experience of mentoring or leading junior team members to build a high-performance culture.
  • Experience in public speaking and talking to the media.
  • Professional fluency in other European languages.
