We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Designer to join our team at Brandon James Ltd, a leading construction consultancy in the North East. As a Principal Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and managing design risk across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advising on and ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022
  • Managing design risk and integrating health and safety considerations into the design process
  • Coordinating with clients, designers, and contractors to meet project requirements
  • Conducting design reviews and providing guidance on best practices
  • Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information and health and safety files
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, construction management)
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a Principal Designer role within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2023 and health and safety standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
