Job Summary

Zest Optical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optometrist to join our team in a specialist ophthalmology hospital setting. As a Hospital Optometrist, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and ambitious clinical team, providing services to both NHS and private patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refractive, cataract, glaucoma, and retinal surgeries
  • Run acute and follow-up clinics post-surgery for all patients
  • Provide first-line clinical advice to patients and refer to medical practitioners as necessary
  • Support the hospital's clinical team with direct consultant access, peer support, and a robust clinical CPD program

Requirements

  • Fully qualified Optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
  • Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification
  • Extensive experience working as an Optometrist in a refractive, high street, or hospital environment
  • Interest in providing further clinical services and supporting the wider NHS hospital network
  • Additional accreditations and qualifications in glaucoma, cataracts, and medical retina are advantageous
