Transport Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join our team at Right Now Recruitment. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing a large fleet of drivers and vehicles, as well as a small team of coordinators and administration staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a large fleet of drivers and various vehicle types
- Being on call within a 24/7 operation
- Managing drivers throughout the day and ensuring a full and effective de-brief is completed
- Route Planning to maximize efficiency
- Communicating with other departments to plan effectively
- Arranging third-party transport and temporary staff as needed
- Ensuring full compliance with the Operator's Licence at all times
- Ensuring all transport operations are in accordance with documented Health and Safety procedures
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous Transport/Logistics or Depot Management experience
- Exposure to managing a team of drivers and office staff in a busy environment
- CPC qualification or willingness to undergo certification
- Experience in Hazardous waste, Recycling, Waste management or Building Materials
- Experience within Logistics/Freight/Courier or Perishable goods
- Previous working experience within a Collections based Transport Service
- Full UK drivers licence with access to your own Vehicle
- Ability to settle quickly within a demanding leadership role
About the Role:
This is a full-time permanent position, with a salary of 42k to 48K and hours of Monday to Friday (occasional Saturday work required). The role is office-based in Slough, and a full drivers licence is required.
