Support Worker for Student Success

We are seeking an experienced Pastoral Support Officer to join our team at The Manchester College. As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the personal, social, and health education of students who require additional support. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement action plans to address 'at risk' indicators, working closely with internal and external support agencies.
You will also be responsible for providing prompt and proactive support to students, addressing their pastoral and welfare needs, including rapid intervention for disengaged students. To achieve this, you will need to utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics or equivalent, as well as a Level 3 qualification in Education, Social Care, Mentoring, Youth Work, Counselling, or Advice & Guidance. You will also have evidence of effective use of ICT systems and programs, as well as experience of supporting learners in an educational setting, preferably FE/HE.
In return, you will benefit from a competitive salary of £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including 35 days paid annual leave, free breakfast, and access to an Employee Assistance Program.
