About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Solicitor to join our Serious Injury team at QED Legal. As a key member of our litigation department, you will be responsible for handling a portfolio of claimant serious injury claims and contributing to the general success of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Deliver excellent client care to clients who have suffered from a traumatic and life-changing event, overseeing individual cases and the team.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate and lead the team, ensuring clear objectives and KPIs are followed, performance issues are actively managed, and development plans are in place in accordance with company policy.
  • Collaboration: Work with a multi-disciplinary team of experts, including medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel, to analyze evidence and research legal issues on liability, causation, and quantum.
  • Document Preparation: Draft documents, including statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss, to secure early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation.
  • Settlement Optimization: Optimize clients' settlements by analyzing evidence and researching legal issues.
Person Specification
  • A qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEx with a minimum of 8 years of Post Qualification Experience or equivalent experience to charge and recover Grade A rates.
  • Proven track record of dealing with serious injury claims, with strong technical ability and practical knowledge of court procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and objection handling.
  • Accountable for achieving objectives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of work quality and client care.
  • Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Good attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
