We are seeking an experienced Senior Governance Advisor to join our team at Signet Recruitment and Retention. As a key member of our Compliance and Risk Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational Compliance and Risk function and ensuring all regulatory requirements and guidance are met.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal and external audit. You will design, implement, and embed operational risk and control framework across the business and provide day-to-day advice and guidance to the business on technical compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and deliver the operational Compliance and Risk function to ensure all regulatory requirements and guidance through ongoing review of existing processes, procedures, and controls, and enhancement of changes where required.
  2. Maintain knowledge of ongoing regulatory change, including impact, and oversight of production of timely briefing notes to senior management and business areas as required.
  3. Provide day-to-day advice and guidance to the business on technical compliance matters.
  4. Be responsible for continual embedding of compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks that require close collaboration with or execution by the business, particularly Consumer Duty.
  5. Oversight of annual Compliance Monitoring Plan for the business, including regulatory reporting, sampling, and returns.
  6. Deputise for Head of Risk and Compliance and act as designated contact point for Financial Conduct Authority.
  7. Oversight for ensuring all annual and ad hoc regulatory reporting obligations are satisfied and completed by their due date.
  8. Design, implement, and embed operational risk and control framework across the business.
  9. Design and deliver training to embed activity across the business that will strengthen control understanding and implementation.
  10. Conduct compliance risk assessment processes to detect process gaps and inconsistencies.

Your Profile:

  1. Ability to assess whether application of regulatory rules and standards is appropriate.
  2. Strong Regulatory Knowledge, ideally including CONC, PRIN, SYSC, DISP, SUP.
  3. Industry experience within financial services, banking, loans, or insurance.
  4. Extensive DCA and Consumer Duty experience.
  5. A strong communicator, able to build key relationships both internally and externally.
  6. Ability to interpret regulatory rules.
  7. Ability to develop effective operational risk program.
  8. Highly organised, accurate approach to work.
  9. Good knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs and IT environments.

Salary: £500 - £550 per day (Inside IR35)
