Our client is a pioneering engineering company offering bespoke solutions for the space sector, including applications in astrophysics, accelerators, lasers, and nuclear fusion.

The Role:

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Chemical Propulsion Engineer to join our team. Bullet Point Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Lead systems engineering for propulsion across diverse thrust ranges.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for both chemical and electric propulsion systems.
  • Work closely with senior ESA engineers to finalize propulsion specs and configurations.
  • Develop water-based electrolysis propulsion solutions alongside the CTO and engineering leads.
  • Contribute to continuous product and systems improvement, and report on project developments.
  • Conduct performance analysis, validate requirements, and organize ESA/ECSS standard datapacks.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree (2:1 or higher) in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in chemical propulsion systems, with 2+ years specializing in CP components.
  • Strong expertise in requirements definition, system validation, and subsystem testing.
  • Familiarity with interactions between propulsion systems and thermal, structural, and mechanical design.
  • Effective communication, technical writing, and multitasking abilities.
  • Background in spacecraft fueling and system engineering.
