NHS MRI Radiographer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiographer to join our team at the Wood Green Community Diagnostic Centre. As a Band 7 Radiographer, you will be responsible for managing the work area, providing clinical advice and support to Radiographers, students, and Radiographic Assistants under your supervision.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in CT and MRI, with evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and working in the NHS. You will be required to assess the clinical justification of Radiography referrals, act as an Operator under IRMER (2017), and liaise with referral sources to ensure the most clinically appropriate imaging examination is selected.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work harmoniously with colleagues of all professions. You will also be responsible for training staff and students, participating in Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs), and contributing to the development of services across the NCL sector.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the clinical justification of Radiography referrals in line with IRMER (2017) and local protocols.
- Act as an Operator under IRMER (2017) and Practitioner under IRMER (2017) for plain film radiography referrals.
- Liaise with referral sources to ensure the most clinically appropriate imaging examination is selected.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and their escorts prior to, during, and after an examination.
- Acquire diagnostic images and physically position patients accurately for examinations.
- Match clinical indications to an appropriate departmental protocol in x-ray, CT, and MRI Scanning.
- Operate advanced software on specialist radiological equipment.
- Review images and ensure that supplementary imaging procedures are considered prior to patient departure from the department.
- Significant experience in CT and MRI.
- Evidence of CPD.
- Evidence of working in the NHS.
- IV Cannulation.
- Current HCPC registration.
- PgC in CT/MR.
- Able to demonstrate effective and efficient management practice.
- Awareness of current Radiology and Health Service trends.
- Experience in training and development of radiographers.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
The salary for this position is £51,883 to £58,544 per annum, including Outer HCAs.
