Maintenance Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Reed Engineering. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment and machinery.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, using your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
  3. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  4. Record and track maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory management, and quality control.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and procurement, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve maintenance processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant vocational qualification, such as NVQ, ONC, HNC, HND, C&G, or an appropriate apprenticeship.
  2. Experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance, or a willingness to cross-skill and develop electrical knowledge.
  3. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external partners.
  5. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and instructions.
