Clinical Director of Donor Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical professional to join our team as an Associate Director of Clinical Governance for Blood and Plasma. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the clinical work and goals of the Plasma for Medicine and Donor Medical Teams.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in haematology and transfusion medicine, with experience in clinical leadership and management. You will be responsible for contributing to the development of national clinical policy in respect of donor health and donor selection guidance, as well as making an active contribution to the development of new plasma for medicine products.
You will also be responsible for advising on red cell Immuno-haematology strategy in donor blood typing and advising on appropriate blood and plasma products for clinical practice. Additionally, you will participate in the high-level medical director on-call rota, including out of hours.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the clinical work and goals of the Plasma for Medicine and Donor Medical Teams
- Contribute to the development of national clinical policy in respect of donor health and donor selection guidance
- Make an active contribution to the development of new plasma for medicine products

Person Specification- Full and specialist registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or eligible for registration within six months of interview)
- Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview
