Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Learning Disability Support Specialist to join our team in Sheffield. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities to develop skills, achieve their life goals, and maintain meaningful relationships with their family and friends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support individuals with learning disabilities to plan and manage their daily lives, including personal care, cooking, and household tasks.
  • Encourage and enable service users to participate in activities that promote social inclusion, such as community events, educational courses, and leisure activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, families, and colleagues.
  • A flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
