HGV Class 1 Night Driver Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced HGV Class 1 night driver to join our team on a regular basis, working Monday to Friday night shifts. The role involves collecting palletised goods for delivery the next day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations
  • Supervise the loading of palletised goods
  • Plan route to ensure pallets are strapped down correctly
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
  • Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries
Requirements:
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with 2 years minimum experience
  • Clean driving record with no major violations
  • Proven experience as a truck driver with multi-drop experience of palletised goods
  • Ability to operate and maintain various types of trucks and trailers
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Please note that a 2-hour induction and assessment will be required before starting the role. Ongoing work is available for the right candidate.
