Do you have a strong desire to work in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school setting?

We are seeking an Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to work as a SEN Learning Support Assistant for the remainder of this academic year. You will be supporting a small class, working in partnership with the school's teaching staff and support staff team to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' language acquisition.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, and deliver interventions to children with speech, language and communicational needs both in a small group and 1:1. You will make a real difference to the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career as a Speech and Language Therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
  • Behaviour and pastoral support
  • Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Ensure safeguarding of students
  • Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD

What We Offer:

Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students. You will be paid £80-£90 per day, working Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30, PAYE, term time only. No previous experience is required, and a GCSE in English and Maths is all you need to get started. If you have a Psychology / Criminology / Social Science degree, it's an excellent use of your degree.

Requirements:

You MUST have the right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship. Candidates registering with Academics Ltd will need to have or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate.
