Job Description

As a Personal Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing personalized care and support to service users in their own homes. This includes assistance with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as mobility support, meal preparation, and medication administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care: Provide personalized care and support to service users, promoting independence and autonomy.
  • Mobility Support: Assist service users with transferring from bed to chair, walking, and other mobility-related tasks, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
  • Meal Preparation and Feeding: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, taking into account any dietary requirements or restrictions, and assist with feeding service users.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed and monitor medication schedules to ensure timely and accurate dispensing.
  • Light Household Duties: Assist with light household tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping, to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Companionship and Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and companionship to service users, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a caring and empathetic nature, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people. Previous experience in domiciliary or home care is preferred but not required. A relevant care qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care) is desirable but not essential.

We offer a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. Training in manual handling and safeguarding adults will be provided.
