Carpentry Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter inc Locksmith to join our team at HMP Portland, a category C adult and YOI prison. Located in Grove, Portland DT5 1DL, this role offers a competitive salary of £32,438.51 per annum.

1. Perform carpentry tasks, including repairs and maintenance of buildings and fixtures;
2. Operate power tools and machinery safely and efficiently;
3. Maintain high standards of health and safety in the workplace;
4. Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals.

• Substantiated experience in a similar role;
• Competency in the use and operation of all associated power tools and machinery;
• Basic IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word;
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements;
• Up-to-date First Aid at Work Qualification;
• City & Guilds, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification or substantial experience;
• Good Health & Safety knowledge;
• Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills.
