Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting. This includes assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients and develop individualized care plans
- Provide emergency medical care, including administering medications and performing procedures
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility
- Ability to interpret basic arrhythmias
- Ability to work on Medical/Surgical Unit as required
- Current certification in ACLS, PALS, BCLS, CTAS, and delegated medical acts
- Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Assessment and interviewing skills
- Ability to escort patients via ambulance services when required
- Ability to flex time to meet unit, staff, and patient needs
- Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to continuous quality improvement
- Ability to work all shifts
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
- Basic computer knowledge
- Participation in staff meetings and unit-specific projects
- Communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Recent satisfactory attendance and performance records
- Adherence to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies
- Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety
- Emergency Nursing Certificate
- Physical Assessment Course
- TNCC or equivalent
- Recent Medical/Surgical/PACU/Day Surgery/Critical Care experience
- Two years recent Emergency experience
- NRP
