About the Role

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in the Clinical Trials Dispensary. As a Specialist Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for verifying prescriptions for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and developing our newly established program.

The successful candidate will be based at St Bartholomew's Hospital and will work closely with our Oncology Pharmacy team. You will be well supported in developing this exciting and innovative role.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Checking readymade and prepared doses of anticancer therapy from our dedicated satellite dispensary
  • Developing and implementing a framework for Pharmacy Technician SACT prescription verification
  • Supporting our ward-based team of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and ATOs in providing a patient-facing pharmacy service to cancer patients

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • BTEC Pharmaceutical Sciences / NVQ 3 or equivalent
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification
  • HEE LaSE Medicines Optimisation qualification or equivalent
