Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Attorney Specialist to join our team at G2 Legal.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in Engineering or Aerospace and a proven track record in drafting and prosecuting patents within these sectors.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career as a Patent Attorney Specialist with a leading firm in Intellectual Property law.

You will work closely with inventors, engineers, and in-house legal teams to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into robust patent applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic counsel on patent portfolios and IP rights management
  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the UK, Europe, and worldwide
  • Conducting thorough patentability and freedom-to-operate searches
  • Representing clients in oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office (EPO)

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A Part/Qualified Patent Attorney qualification in the UK and/or European
  • A technical degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field
  • Proven experience in drafting and prosecuting patents within the Engineering or Aerospace sectors
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to grasp complex technical details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
