About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Inspector Apprentice to join our team at AWE. As a Quality Inspector Apprentice, you will be responsible for inspecting various mechanical and electrical components used in production or trials environments. You will work to process written procedures and use your knowledge and experience to interpret requirements directly from drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect mechanical and electrical components
  • Process written procedures
  • Interpret requirements from drawings
  • Use first principle measurements and hand instruments
  • Apply engineering principles to real-life scenarios

About You

We are looking for a practical and detail-oriented individual with a passion for engineering or technology. You should have good communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and have a strong understanding of quality principles.

Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including Maths, English, and a Science
  • Aged 16 or over as of 31st August 2025
  • British National

What We Offer

We offer a competitive starting salary of £17,750, increasing annually throughout your apprenticeship. You will also receive a market-leading contributory pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, and access to employee discounts.

Location and Duration

The role is based in the Reading/Basingstoke area, and the apprenticeship will last for 3-4 years, depending on personal performance.

Recruitment Process

We recruit on a rolling basis, and the scheme will close to new applications as soon as positions are filled. All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
