About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Catering Manager to join our team at a prestigious independent school in Dorking. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing front-of-house operations, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of catering staff to deliver high-quality food and service to students and staff.
  2. Manage front-of-house operations, including supervising staff, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring efficient service.
  3. Collaborate with the Catering Manager to develop and implement menus, manage stock levels, and maintain accurate accounting records.
  4. Provide excellent customer service, responding to feedback and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  5. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality food and service, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and health and safety protocols.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only, plus 4 weeks' annual leave. You will also have the opportunity to work with a talented team, develop your skills and experience, and contribute to the success of our catering operation.
