This pivotal role is crucial in ensuring that children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive an exceptional education, have their needs met, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Be a key advocate for inclusive education, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and promoting best practice to create a supportive environment for all pupils.
- Ensure the identification and support for pupils with SEND is effective and aligned with the Trust's strategic goals.
- Provide leadership in ensuring that all pupils, regardless of their additional needs, have access to high-quality education.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and legislation.
- Offer guidance and support to SENDCos and staff, ensuring that they have the resources and training needed to meet the needs of SEND pupils.
- Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, parents, carers, and other educational partners.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of SEND provision and drive continuous improvement across the academies.
- Lead the Trust's SEND learning faculty, supporting professional development and training for staff.
Rochdale Sixth Form College (RSFC): A nationally recognised centre of excellence for A Level performance, Ofsted Outstanding, and Sixth Form College of the Year 2021.
Edgar Wood Academy: A secondary school opened in 2021, quickly establishing a strong reputation within the community.
