Main Responsibilities

This "Senior CBT Therapist in CAMHS" role involves providing specialist psychological assessment and intervention to clients of the Bromley CAMHS Generic Team. This includes offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychological therapies colleagues and to other non-professional carers. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide supervision to the wider team colleagues and trainees.

Key Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have undertaken a recognised Qualification in one of the core mental health professions, such as psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, social work, or clinical/counselling psychology, with appropriate up-to-date registration. A post-graduate accredited qualification in CBT is also essential.

Desirable Skills

The ideal candidate will have experience of specialist mental health assessment and treatment of clients across a range of care settings, including work with children. They will also have experience of working with a variety of client groups, presenting with problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have knowledge of the theory and practice of CBT within a mental health setting, as well as skills in the use of complex methods of assessment, intervention, and management. They will also be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical, and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers, and other professional colleagues.
