Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Assistant to join our team at Commercial Services Group. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager in all transactional activities, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Manager in processing financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed customer records, including creating new customer accounts and updating existing ones.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and provide them with relevant financial information.
  • Prepare and enter journals into the accounting system.
  • Support the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties.
  • Manage VAT returns and other ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Completed up to Level 3 AAT qualification.
  • Proven experience in a finance function, including a working knowledge of tax.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with non-finance professionals.
  • Experience using finance and accounting software, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and address problems and identify solutions.
  • Contributes to the development of the organization by providing business-focused, commercially viable advice.
  • Works collaboratively with all stakeholders, developing and maintaining effective relationships and providing an excellent service.
