Job Summary:

Vox Network Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Educational Psychologist to lead our team of professionals in providing exceptional services to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying psychology to promote inclusion and improve outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring that our services are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Professional Development: Maintain and develop your professional knowledge, skills, and experience to meet the requirements of the post and work to the Standards of Proficiency and Standards of Conduct, Performance, and Ethics published by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Culturally Responsive Practice: Proactively support the development of culturally responsive practice relating to the role of Educational Psychology.
  • Project Leadership: Lead small projects or programmes of work in the EPS or in educational settings.
  • Supervision and Training: Develop supervisory skills following a recognised approach, for Trainee Educational Psychologist (TEP) supervision, peer supervision, education staff, and other professionals.
  • Group Facilitation: Use group techniques (e.g. solution circles, nominal group techniques, rich pictures, appreciative enquiry) to facilitate change and recognise how this work is an important part of local area leadership.

Requirements:

  • Experience and Qualifications: Experience and/or interest in multi-disciplinary work, Honours degree in Psychology, Professional EP qualification obtained from a recognised training course, and successful experience as either a qualified Educational Psychologist and/or a trainee EP on placement in the public sector.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Skills in working to a consultation model, undertaking psychological assessment and planning/delivering intervention programmes in partnership with schools and other professionals for children and young people, knowledge of psychological theories and their application in the field of education, and thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, statutory frameworks, and best practice affecting children and young people with SEN/D.
