Job Description:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Aspire People. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to classroom teachers in delivering lessons and managing student behavior, with a focus on special educational needs (SEN) support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to classroom teachers in delivering lessons and managing student behavior
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN
  • Offer reading and writing support to students who require additional assistance
  • Support the teacher in maintaining classroom discipline and encouraging positive behavior
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources
  • Supervise students during break times and off-site activities
  • Monitor students' progress and provide feedback to the classroom teacher
  • Collaborate with other teaching assistants and school staff to create a supportive learning environment
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
Requirements
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Prior experience as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Knowledge of KS1 and KS2 curriculum
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional qualifications in SEN support
  • Training in behavioral management techniques
Working Conditions
