Advanced Metalcraft Limited is a leading manufacturer of structural steel frames, balconies, staircases, balustrades, and associated steelwork for the construction industry.

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural and Architectural Metalwork Production Manager to oversee the organization of our main factory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and scope. A background in business skills, management, budgeting, and analysis is essential.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be skilled at getting the best out of people and projects, and thrive in planning production and working with project teams.

The role requires minimal travel, with 95% of the time spent in Norwich. There may be occasional meetings in London and overnight stays.

The successful candidate will work within an existing team led by the Managing Director and must have great attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the central production schedule and track progress and dates.
  • Track material PO's and record items sent to check against delivery dates.
  • Liaise with Operation/Contracts/Commercial manager for weekly installation sheets.
  • Oversee daily and weekly production in both manufacture & assembly workshops.
  • Attend handover and design meetings.
  • Track workshop hours and advise of any shortfalls.
  • Plan resources and set working hours.
  • Chair production meetings.
  • Ensure purchase orders are called off to suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Chase suppliers for delivery dates to ensure production is maintained.
  • Ensure employees are working safely and adhering to our risk assessments and procedures.
  • Record all deliveries on the spreadsheet.
  • Plan transport requirements with operations for deliveries to sites.
  • Foster relationships with clients and key vendors.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all manufactured works are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Developing production scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed production plan to track progress.
  • Measure production performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Perform risk management to minimise production risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive production documentation.

Reporting to: Managing Director (Kris Barnes)

Normal hours: 8.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday
