Port Operative

We are seeking a skilled and flexible Port Operative to join our team at Stafforce Recruitment. As a Port Operative, you will play a vital role in supporting the UK's supply chain from discharge to distribution.
About the Role:As a Port Operative, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Stevedore / Quayside duties
- Plant driving, including Forklift Trucks, Payloaders, Shovels, Tugs, and Mobile harbour cranes
- Weighbridge or Gatehouse duties
- Stock counts
- Industrial cleaning
- Traffic Marshall and Vehicle banksman duties
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A health and safety conscious attitude at all times
- A team player approach, committed to ensuring the completion of works in a safe and timely manner
- A flexible approach to work
- A keenness to learn new skills
While not essential, the following qualifications would be highly desirable:
- A full UK driving licence
- A valid or expired Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
- An HGV licence
- A valid or expired Payloader / Shovel Licence
- Experience in a similar role, such as port operative, stevedore, CSCS labourer, plant driver, forklift driver, shovel driver, vehicle banksman, slinger banksman, crane driver, quarry operative, warehouse operative, weighbridge
- Previous experience working with commodities such as Steel, 1t Bags or Timber
- Experience operating a radio
