About the Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in electrical engineering, working alongside experienced professionals to develop skills and knowledge in electrical installation and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shadow experienced electrical engineers to learn industry-standard methods and techniques
  • Assist in full and part home re-wires, consumer unit upgrades, fault finding and testing, and other electrical installations
  • Develop skills in electrical safety, health and safety practices, and quality control
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve project goals

Training and Qualifications

As an apprentice, you will be enrolled on a level 2 foundation apprenticeship in electrical engineering, gaining qualifications in:

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance and InstallationLevel 2 Diploma in Engineering TechnologyEssential Communication SkillsEssential Application of Number SkillsEssential Digital Literacy Skills

Requirements and Skills

  • Punctuality and flexibility with working hours
  • GCSE in Maths at grade C or above
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions and ask for guidance when necessary
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to the job and training
  • Prior electrical experience desirable but not essential
  • Ability to drive essential for site work and travelling to the Pyle training centre

Training Provider and Qualification

XR Training provides the foundation apprenticeship in electrical engineering, leading to a level 2 qualification.
