As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out routine mechanical and fabric maintenance tasks on various plant equipment and building fabric. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable FM service provider in Chelmsford.

About the Role

This is a fantastic chance to work as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical qualifications, such as NVQ or City & Guilds, and a proven track record in commercial building maintenance. You will be required to carry out tasks such as monitoring mechanical plant, pumps, motors, seals, bearings, air conditioning, water treatment, plumbing, and electrical duties. You will also be responsible for escorting specialist sub-contractors and working within a 4on 4off days and nights shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor mechanical plant and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty equipment.
  • Work with the maintenance team to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Escorting specialist sub-contractors as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and any issues encountered.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • Mechanical qualifications - NVQ or City & Guilds.
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to gain Enhanced DBS.
