Tomlinson Environmental Services is seeking a Seasonal Ramp Attendant to join our team at the Peterborough Landfill. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in assisting, educating, and directing customers on proper waste disposal practices.

The successful candidate will work closely with our team and the municipality to maximize recycling opportunities and ensure safe and proper waste disposal. You will also be trained to operate the scale system and may be required to work additional shifts in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct customers to proper drop-off locations in a professional manner
  • Answer customer questions and provide information on waste disposal practices
  • Communicate with foremen and scale attendants to ensure efficient operations
  • Monitor vehicles and persons entering the premises
  • Keep the site clean and collect litter, assist with snow removal, and perform other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Filling in as a scale attendant when needed
  • Monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness of the site

Working Conditions:

  • Dealing with customers and managing complaints in a professional manner
  • Working in an outdoor environment with varying weather conditions
  • Potential lifting and physical demands

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers and colleagues
  • Computer knowledge and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle required
